ABOUT THE ROLE
Gaco is seeking a proactive, technically proficient, and strategic Architecture & Engineering (A&E) Representative to drive brand preference and increase product specification rates across target markets. In this role, you will act as the primary technical partner for architects, specifiers, engineers, and building envelope consultants. You will identify high-value opportunities early in the design phase, deliver accredited continuing education, and actively track projects from design through bid completion to ensure Gaco specifications hold.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
Specification Generation & Tracking
- Identify target projects and design firms where Gaco is not currently specified, strategically positioning Gaco building envelope solutions to maximize overall specification rates.
- Monitor specification hit rates and systematically track projects through the bidding and procurement phases to prevent substitutions and ensure specifications hold.
Content Creation & Educational Outreach
- Maintain, update, and deliver existing AIA continuing education (CEU) programs to architectural and engineering firms.
- Develop new, compelling educational presentations for emerging product categories, including Air & Vapor Barriers (AVB) and Poly Methyl Methacrylate (PMMA) systems.
- Educate and train the internal sales team on utilizing architectural assets, technical tools, and CEU content to drive local market growth.
Project Mining & Early-Stage Engagement
- Utilize Lead-generation platforms (e.g., Dodge Data, ConstructConnect) to mine for early-stage commercial and new construction opportunities.
- Proactively engage specifying architects and design professionals during the schematic design (SD) and design development (DD) phases to integrate Gaco into baseline project specifications.
Technical Support & Design Consultation
- Serve as the trusted technical resource for the design community, providing expert guidance on detail drawings, custom specification writing, and submittal reviews.
- Resolve complex architectural queries to ensure seamless integration of Gaco systems into project construction documents.
Industry Engagement & Networking
- Maintain an active, visible presence in key industry associations, including the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and the International Building Performance Institute (IIBEC).
- Attend, network at, and present during regional and national trade shows, symposiums, and industry roundtables.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
