ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Engineer's primary objective is to plan and implement major capital projects within the capital budget plan to improve the plant's operation and ensure the Bath plant maintains a long-term competitive position.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Identify capital investment in conjunction with the Project Manager, Projects Engineer, and Plant Management Team.
  • Manage projects from conception to completion by coordinating various teams including engineering firms, suppliers, contractors and the plant.
  • Prepare or supervise conceptual and feasibility studies, project definitions, and scope of work, ensuring primary objectives are met.
  • Coordinate the system start-up and commissioning along with the plant people.
  • Prepare or supervise major capital cost estimates, investment analysis, and cash flow projections for the justification of projects.
  • Develop planning strategies and budget control, preparing monthly project reports on budget status and schedule updates.
  • Interface with vendors, contractors, and engineering firms on proposals for design and execution of projects in all technical aspects.
  • Provide a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or equivalent technical qualifications gained through relevant work experience.
  • Experience: 1 to 4 years of related experience. Experience from Heavy Industry is an asset.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarized with automated drafting software (e.g., Autocad).
  • Knowledge of the cement technology and manufacturing is an asset.
  • Knowledge of project management procedures, cost control, and scheduling.
  • Proven communication skills (written & oral) in English.
  • Ability to work on many tasks at the same time while keeping excellent organizational skills.
  • Good leadership ability and interpersonal skills.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Travel Requirements: Less than 5%.
  • Personal interest in a supervision role.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
