ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently seeking a skilled and dependable individual to join our team as an Aggregates Truck Driver in Bellingham and surrounding area, including Canada. As an Aggregate Truck Driver, you will be responsible for operating a gravel truck to transport construction materials to and from various job sites. Your exceptional driving skills and attention to safety will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our construction projects.

 
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Safely operate a gravel truck to transport construction materials, such as gravel, sand, and other aggregates, to and from job sites.
  • Load materials onto trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure fastening
  • Unload materials at designated locations, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, project managers, and other personnel to ensure timely and efficient delivery of materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including time logs, mileage, and fuel consumption
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while driving the truck
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to ensure its safe and efficient operation.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle malfunctions promptly to the supervisor.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks on the truck, such as checking oil levels, tire pressure, and cleaning the vehicle regularly.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.


 
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Work Experience: Proven experience as a gravel truck driver, preferably in a construction or similar environment.
Required Training/Certifications: Valid commercial driver's license (CDL Class A) with a safe driving and clean FMCSA Clearinghouse record.
 
Additional Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of traffic rules, regulations, and safe driving practic
  • Valid documents and ability and willingness to drive into Canada is an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills, self-management skills, and teamwork abilities to work effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other personnel
  • Physical stamina to withstand long hours of driving and loading/unloading materials
  • Able to work unsupervised in a fast-paced, high-production environment
  • Comfortable and capable of working at heights
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrate strong skills in problem-solving, decision making and multi-tasking
  • Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including Saturdays
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
