ABOUT THE ROLE
The Electrical Supervisor and Systems Specialist ensures that all plant electrical equipment is maintained in the most reliable and cost effective manner possible. To motivate, supervise and lead the electrical personnel including with all other departments and ensuring Health and Safety regulations is a top priority. The incumbent identifies key equipment that is adversely impacting plant performance, propose robust solutions to improve reliability, and oversee their implementation. Drives a methodical, data-driven approach to solving complex problems, and to promote continuous improvement in a fast-paced workplace.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Ensure compliance with OH&S and environment policies for electrical maintenance personnel; establish safety culture and tackle specific actions to ensure health and safety prevention during maintenance activities.
- Determine and identify necessary corrective and preventive electrical, instrumentation, and automation maintenance actions in coordination with Mechanical, Process, and Production Departments.
- Prepare daily, weekly, project-based, and annual shutdown electrical maintenance plans (work orders) and supervise execution.
- Support the Maintenance Manager in the elaboration and control of the maintenance budget.
- Monitor performance of the maintenance crew, plan trainings, and coach the electrical team on maintenance best practices.
- Lead benchmarking with external companies to drive competitive advantage and ensure alignment with country, regional, and global strategies.
- Work with production and maintenance personnel to establish scopes of work for upcoming projects, oversee contractors, and assist with commissioning.
- Troubleshoot recurring or complex failures using engineering principles and analytical methods (Pareto diagrams, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA).
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the plant (updating BOMs, updating equipment files, job plans, spare parts inventory, automation updates).
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Technical Degree in Electrical engineering or equivalent.
- Field of Study Preferred: Electrical Engineering.
- 5 plus years’ experience in heavy industry electrical experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of electrical maintenance tasks (e.g. motors, drives, power and control systems, instrumentation, automation systems) preferred.
- Knowledge of project management procedures, cost control, and scheduling.
- Ability to work on many tasks at the same time while keeping excellent organizational skills.
- Good leadership ability and interpersonal skills.
- High drive and motivation to deliver projects on time and on budget.
- Knowledge of industrial technology and manufacturing is an asset.
- Computer hardware/software and networking skills are assets.
- Electrical, Instrumentation and Control System experience are assets.
- Demonstrated effectiveness working in a team environment.
- Proficiency in SAP is an asset.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office suite) required.
- Experience with CAD (AutoCAD, Inventor).
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
