ABOUT THE ROLE
The Production Manager has direct accountability for the safety, financial and operational performance of the Brookfield Cement Plant production. The Production Manager plays a key role in developing and executing on all budgets, cost savings, performance plans and Key Performance Indicator (KPI’s) targets. Ensures safe and healthy working conditions in operations under his/her responsibility. Directly contributes to synergies between plant, sales and logistics. The Production Manager contributes to organizational excellence by continually promoting a culture of agility, collaboration, simplicity, and empowerment, enabling continuous improvement.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environment areas.
- Implements an effective health and safety action plan including training, communication, and audits, aligned with the HSMS.
- Ensures efficient industrial cleaning, housekeeping, and works with maintenance to eliminate spillages.
- Drives the production related component of the PDP process.
- Actively participates in setting annual Budget in line with Group objectives.
- Conducts monthly financial review and forecast with the team and ensures accuracy of Inventories reconciliation.
- Collaborates with Sales and Distribution to meet market demands and quality objectives.
- Ensures operating efficiency of all major pieces of plant equipment and manages refractory performance.
- Participates in building career and succession plans and ensures compliance with the Collective Agreement.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: Bachelor of Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
- Preferred Fields: Production, Automation, Mechanical, or Chemical.
- Work Experience: 10 years of industrial manufacturing experience and 5 years of progressive management experience.
- Technical Skills: Microsoft office, google suite and SAP.
- Travel Requirements: 10%.
Additional Requirements:
- Experience in the cement manufacturing is an asset.
- Proven team leadership and strong communication, negotiation and change management skills.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Good knowledge of Cement production equipment, the Cement industry, and working in a unionized environment.
- Ability to foster and grow a strong safety culture.
- High capacity of working under pressure and stress.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
