Description: 

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Civil Drafter, you will play a key role in producing detailed and accurate drawings that support the design, approval, and production of high-quality precast concrete products. Working closely with engineering, sales, and production teams, you will transform sketches and concepts into clear, industry-compliant technical documentation using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Allplan. This position offers the opportunity to develop specialized knowledge in precast concrete manufacturing while ensuring drawing efficiency and accuracy to minimize delays.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Verifying dimensions, materials, and structural relationships.

  • Use Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and other CAD software to produce, manage, and revise drawings with a focus on consistency, efficiency, and technical accuracy. .

  • Submit drawings for internal and external review, incorporating feedback and maintaining communication with stakeholders throughout the revision process.

  • Collaborate effectively with engineering, sales, and production teams to ensure drawings meet project requirements, quality control requirements and client expectations.

  • Improve drafting efficiency by streamlining workflows and maintaining organized digital drawing files.

  • Minimize revisions and delays by delivering high-quality, error-free drawings on schedule.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: High school diploma or equivalent 

Required Training/Certifications: Computer Aided Design Diploma/Certificate  or similar computer aided drawing program. 

Required Technical experience: Microsoft excel and word
Required Work Experience: Three or more years’ experience in a CAD operator role

Additional Requirements: 

  • Good colour vision and the ability to visualize designs in 3D.

  • Must have extensive knowledge in the 3D Inventor program.

  • Excellent math skills 

  • Communication skills

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to implement practical solutions.

  • Effective leadership and organizational skills

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
