ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is ideal for a proactive, agile professional looking to build a career in the construction industry across our diverse business lines. The Business Coordinator provides project and administrative support to the Vice President of Southern Alberta and the local senior leadership team, reporting directly to the VP. Success in this role requires strong time management, organizational skills, professional agility, and effective problem-solving.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Collaborate with the leadership team on projects, research, and confidential initiatives, including negotiations for projects and events, equity and inclusion efforts, and community engagement opportunities.
- Plan and manage events, leadership meetings, and employee townhalls, while supporting tactical communications across intranet and social media.
- Maintain a keen awareness of departmental and organizational goals and objectives, in order to best support them
- Assist the VP with reports, memos, letters, and confidential communications, serving as a gatekeeper for sensitive documentation.
- Prepare, compose, and manage various materials, including agendas, reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and meeting documents, ensuring appropriate channels and formats are used.
- Compile analytical reports and handle operational functions such as generating and processing purchase orders (POs).
- Work closely with the VP to manage schedules, commitments, and communications, serving as the primary point of contact and ambassador for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage corporate event accounts, including catering, allocation, and reporting.
- Arrange domestic and international travel, accommodations, and transportation for the VP and visitors, while ensuring professional hospitality and adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma.
Additional Education Preferred: N/A
Field of Study Preferred: Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or any related field
Required Work Experience: Up to two years of administrative experience, preferably within the construction industry.
Required Training/Certifications: valid class 5 driver’s license
Required Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Working Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop/PageMaker, SAP, and Fiori is an asset.
Travel Requirements: 0-10%

- Exhibit exceptional organizational skills so as to complete assignments and produce accurate work products in a timely manner without follow-up.

- Balances the need to be a gatekeeper with the need to also be collaborative.
- Excellent proofreading and editing skills.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
