ABOUT THE ROLE 
The primary objective of this position is to provide support to the estimating team and assist with daily bidding activities to secure various project opportunities in the market.
 
 
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Review contract documents and plans for relevant information and project materials.
  • Job set-ups for all projects awarded to Amrize including credit approval, bonding, insurance, W.C.B. clearance, schedules, pre-construction meetings, subcontract agreements, purchase orders, as well as internal job setup for operations and accounting systems.
  • Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates based on efficient construction practices, and using the most competitive and reliable subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Preparing final bid, complete with mark-up strategy based on market conditions, Amrize policy, and in conjunction with the Estimating Manager and/or the General Manager.
  • Direct liaison with customers, consultants, and owners.  Ensure that client satisfaction is achieved.
  • Understanding of Amrize’s business, and monitoring of the construction market to identify suitable projects which Amrize would be interested in bidding.
  • Monitor project costs and financial reports.  Provide feedback to operations and estimating departments.
  • Preparing extra pricing for active projects.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or Business is preferred or equivalent experience. A combination of educational background along with skills / experience will be considered. 
Required Training/Certifications: 
Required Work Experience: Estimating experience preferred; project management and field supervisory experience a strong plus.
Required Technical Experience: Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and Bluebeam takeoff software. Experience with B2W Estimate software is a strong plus.
Additional Requirements:

  • Approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
