ABOUT THE ROLE
The position of Construction Manager is a key position within the core management structure of Amrize Contracting
Division. This position comes with many responsibilities and the individual assuming this position must possess excellent management and even more so, leadership qualities. This individual must have excellent communication, motivational,instructional and mentoring skills. Personal as well as professional integrity is a must and this person must “Lead byExample”. The position also requires a reasonable and sound thought process with a common-sense approach. It requires that decisions be made without regard to one’s own gain but rather for the betterment and prosperity of Amrize

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Manage superintendents and foreman on multiple projects including conducting meetings prior to project start up,
    during and upon completion of projects
  • Attend weekly scheduling/progress meetings and pre-construction conferences.
  • Educate Superintendents and Foremen about job cost reports and budgets and the importance of analyzing this
    data as it pertains to profitability of the company.
  • Collaborate with other other project teams and leaders to determine the needs and schedules on specific projects.
  • Meet with project owners on any change orders, extra work, issues, etc. without a signed change order.
  • Review daily reports from field crews to determine whether there are issues that need to be addressed in a timely
    fashion.
  • Identify areas of training needed for company employees. Emphasize the importance of giving individuals specific
    targets and goals
  • Work with and schedule GPS Model builder to get accurate information on the Data Collector and Machine cards
    for the field crews. Help to prioritize work flow.
  • Participate in the hiring process of key personnel as needed.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or 7-9 years of experience in a Construction Management role
Field of Study Preferred: Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management
Required Work Experience: Minimum of 7-9 years’ experience in Heavy Highway Construction or Civil
Construction
Travel Requirements: Required to travel and work on site at all projects in all seasons

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
    ● MSHA Part 46 or 48 experience preferred
    ● Excellent verbal and written skills
    ● Excellent computer skills MS Office, Spreadsheets, PowerPoint
    ● Experience with SAP
    ● Experience training employees
    ● Must maintain a valid driver’s license
