ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Risk Manager is responsible for leading Amrize’s risk and insurance strategy, with a focus on identifying, mitigating, and managing hazard risks. This role oversees the procurement of insurance for exposures the company chooses not to retain and plays a critical part in shaping a proactive risk culture across the organization.

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

Risk Management

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve enterprise risk management frameworks
  • Manage the Loss Prevention and Impairment Notification Program
  • Review and negotiate insurance language in contracts; recommend coverage limits and deductibles
  • Ensure compliance with insurance requirements in contracts and manage vendor/customer certificate tracking
  • Coordinate jurisdictional inspections for pressure vessels and boilers
  • Maintain and oversee the Risk Management Information System (RMIS)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Insurance Program Oversight

  • Structure, negotiate, and manage Global Insurance Policies (Property, Builder’s Risks, Environmental Liability, Marine, Professional Liability)
  • Evaluate coverage adequacy and recommend enhancements, Claims & Data Analysis
  • Oversee claims handling and resolution for Global Insurance Policies
  • Analyze loss trends and actuarial data to inform decisions

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with legal, finance, compliance, and operations teams
  • Build strong relationships with external brokers, underwriters, and consultants
  • Provide training and guidance on risk awareness and insurance protocols

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelor's degree or 15 years of equivalent experience

Field of Study Preferred: Degree in risk management
Required Work Experience: 15+ years
Required Training/Certifications: Associate in Risk Management Designation (ARM), Certified Risk Manager Designation (CRM)
Required Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft User

Travel Requirements: 15%

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience in primary insurance placement
  • Demonstrated ability in influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills
  • Working understanding of the construction manufacturing industry
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test.
