Our focus is creating longer-lasting, environmentally responsible roofing solutions that can withstand all weather conditions.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Commercial Applications Manager is the business-facing owner of the applications and digital tools that support Malarkey’s commercial work. The role partners with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Pricing, Finance, Operations, and IT to understand business needs, prioritize improvements, and guide applications through requirements, implementation, testing, launch, support, and ongoing optimization. The manager connects business users, IT teams, and vendors to ensure solutions are usable, integrated, adopted, and aligned with business priorities. The role focuses on commercial application outcomes and governance while partnering with IT on technical architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and system administration.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Responsible for adherence to company policies, including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Serve as the primary business contact for commercial application needs across Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Pricing, Finance, Operations, and IT.
  • Build relationships with users and leaders to understand workflows, pain points, strategic priorities, and opportunities for process or technology improvement.
  • Manage application request intake, assess business value and urgency, document requirements, and recommend priorities and sequencing with stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs into functional requirements, use cases, process maps, user stories, acceptance criteria, and other implementation-ready documentation.
  • Maintain a commercial applications roadmap and communicate planned changes, dependencies, risks, decisions, and expected business outcomes.
  • Lead or coordinate application projects from discovery and solution design through configuration or development, integration, testing, launch, and post-launch review.
  • Partner with IT, system owners, data teams, and vendors on system configuration, technical design, integrations, data flows, access needs, and issue resolution.
  • Plan and coordinate user acceptance testing, including test scenarios, participant readiness, defect tracking, retesting, sign-off, and launch criteria.
  • Support the business use and continuous improvement of CRM, customer portals, sales, pricing, marketing, and commercial reporting applications, as applicable.
  • Establish practical governance for application ownership, decision rights, change intake, release communications, documentation, and user feedback.
  • Coordinate training, job aids, communications, and change support to encourage user readiness, adoption, and consistent use of approved tools.
  • Monitor application performance and user feedback; triage issues, coordinate resolution with IT or vendors, communicate status, and identify recurring problems.
  • Manage relationships with application vendors and service providers; coordinate support, escalations, product updates, and business input into vendor plans.
  • Track project milestones, risks, adoption, data quality, support trends, and realized benefits; provide clear updates and recommendations to leadership.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • A Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business, computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in business applications, commercial systems, product ownership, business analysis, project delivery, or a related field; required years of experience to be confirmed.
  • Experience gathering requirements and coordinating implementation, integration, testing, change, and support for business applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across business and technical teams and translate operational needs into clear, actionable solution requirements.
  • Working knowledge of CRM, customer-facing portals, sales or pricing tools, marketing platforms, and reporting applications; specific systems may vary.
  • Experience coordinating vendors, project timelines, user testing, application training, or ongoing application support.
  • Commitment to responsive service, continuous improvement, ethical conduct, and accurate, policy-compliant work.
