We’re seeking a Process Engineer who’s ready to be part of an innovative company delivering high-performance building solutions that simplify construction and ensure code compliance.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Process Engineer to join our manufacturing team. This role is focused on analyzing and improving our manufacturing equipment and processes to enhance performance, yield, and quality. The ideal candidate will lead continuous improvement initiatives, provide crucial technical support for multistep processes, and ensure that our products consistently meet customer quality standards.


WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Analyze manufacturing equipment and processes to identify opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Lead equipment and system modifications, process and continuous improvement teams, and Quality Assurance initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts across the converting department and other areas to improve yields, quality, customer satisfaction, and efficiency.
  • Provide technical support for various multistep processes, including automation, paste-making, slitting, and laminating for the converting department.
  • Develop and maintain product specifications, equipment specifications, and process parameters for machine settings and product conformity.
  • Maintain technical reports, technical specifications, and process development documentation.
  • Coordinate the readiness of equipment and parts to support production schedules and trials within the converting department.
  • Uphold product quality by ensuring all products delivered to the customer meet established standards and by maintaining the plant-wide Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Organize meetings with technical partners, customer service, and sales to evaluate customer satisfaction and lead root cause investigations for customer complaints.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Materials Science) or a related discipline is required.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in process improvement or operational excellence project roles within the manufacturing sector.
  • 5+ years of experience in roll-to-roll converting, slitting, lamination, coating, cutting, web handling, and automation.
  • Proven experience with the successful implementation of continuous improvement manufacturing programs.
  • Experience in paper, film, or web-handling processes is a plus.
  • Demonstrated training and proficiency in statistical problem-solving methodology and statistical process control.
  • Demonstrated ability in the application of web handling and automation technologies such as winders, tension transducers, vision systems, slitters, and roll laminators.
  • Working knowledge of PC-based applications is necessary.
  • Ability to work with solvents, machinery, and computer systems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently or in team settings.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible and hands-on mentality is essential.
