ABOUT THE ROLE

The Regional Quality Control Director (RQCD) is responsible for developing,
implementing, and maintaining a standardized quality management system across multiple
facilities within an assigned region (CO, AZ, NV, IL, WI, ND, MN), in alignment with ISO
certification requirements. This role exists to ensure consistent product quality, process control,
regulatory compliance, and continual improvement. Importantly, this leadership position is
designed to support our three core product lines—RMX Ready Mixed Concrete, Aggregates, and
Hot Mix Asphalt—equally, ensuring balanced technical oversight and resource allocation across
all materials.


The RQCD leads quality planning, mix design optimization, internal audits, corrective and
preventive actions (CAPAs), and data-driven analysis to identify risks, reduce nonconformities,
and improve manufacturing performance. The role also serves as a primary point of contact for
customers on quality-related matters, including issue resolution, corrective actions, and ongoing
communication to ensure customer requirements and expectations are met. Partnering with
operations and leadership, this position adds value by managing regional personnel and
laboratories, strengthening compliance, reducing the cost of poor quality, improving customer
satisfaction, and supporting the pursuit and maintenance of ISO certification. Additionally, the
role will act as a conduit for best practices within the region and industry, ensuring the
organization remains at the forefront of quality innovation and operational excellence.

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a standardized Quality Management System (QMS)
    aligned with ISO requirements across all facilities in CO, AZ, NV, IL, WI, ND, and MN.
  • Direct, mentor, and oversee regional QC personnel, laboratory operations, and remote
    technical teams.
  • Develop, evaluate, and optimize RMX Ready Mixed Concrete mix designs to meet
    specific project specifications, environmental conditions, and state DOT standards.
  • Lead and coordinate ISO readiness efforts, including documentation, process control, and
    audit preparation.
  • Conduct internal audits and ensure timely closure of CAPAs.
  • Establish and monitor quality KPIs and metrics for product/process consistency across
    RMX, aggregates, and asphalt.
  • Lead root cause analysis and CAPAs for nonconformities and customer complaints.
  • Support CI efforts to reduce defects, waste, and the cost of poor quality.
  • Ensure consistent document control and record retention practices across all sites.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality, Manufacturing, or
a related field, 10+ years of experience in quality management within the manufacturing, concrete, or
construction industry.
Field of Study Preferred: Civil Engineering
Required Work Experience: 10 years relevant experience required. 15+ years preferred
Required Training/Certifications: EIT required. PE preferred  Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements, with demonstrated experience implementing a QMS and coordinating ISO audits. Certifications such as ACI (American Concrete Institute) or relevant regional state DOT certifications are highly preferred.
Required Technical Skills: : Must have a thorough and direct knowledge of concrete and construction
aggregates, and all associated materials, such as cement, pozzolans, and admixtures, as related to concrete
and aggregate production and delivery.
Travel Requirements: 25 - 30%

 

Additional Requirements:  

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test.
