We’re seeking a Distribution Manager - Gaco who’s ready to be part of a company committed to formulating everyday success for every customer through innovative, reliable products used to adhere, seal, and protect at every level of the building envelope.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

Gaco, a division of Amrize Building Envelope, manufactures the highest quality roofing products in the industry.  We ensure our channel partners are the leaders in sales and education to those markets they service. Our service covers training, application, and a high level of support to our customers. This is a skilled sales position for a confident, highly motivated individual. The Distribution Manager must be self-disciplined to work independently in an assigned territory to grow fluid-applied coatings to the commercial roofing markets and meet Region and Division sales objectives. The Distribution Manager is responsible for keeping 1 step Dealers stocked with the appropriate Gaco inventory and conducting training both outside sales and inside sales on how to sell the product to their customer base. Work closely with the Regional Managers and Area Managers in all assigned markets, with specific focus on Dealer Direct Accounts to grow Gaco Market Share.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

Report KPI activities on a weekly basis to the Regional Manager.

●    Strategic Plan:  Create a sustainable annual Go To Market Strategy for 1 step distributors in each market area to be reviewed with RM monthly. Execute strong product knowledge information and associated systems for dealers, branch managers, regional managers.  Conduct Product Knowledge educational events at 1-step dealers and train new additional sales employees when they are onboarded. 
●    KPI Specifics: Provide a Dealer Direct Target Pipeline consisting of 250 locations, Visit a minimum of five 1 Step Dealers per week, Ensure new lower cost is in their system, Ensure all items stocked are listed on the website, Ask if we can “buy out” brand X, Selling URRS’s, Report activities to RM weekly and assist National team within Region when required.
●    Liaison:  Build relationships between AMs to Dealers and their contractors, including support on application techniques, job site support, and leads.  Demonstrate best market practices to influence market value. 
●    E-Mail Blast:   Regular blast on new products, new application methods, and new promotions. Follow up all leads to turn into sales.
●    AIA:   Contact all Dodge AIA contacts to invite them to our AIA/CES learning unit program, through local Web-X, or Lunch & Leans, where and when possible, 2 per quarter.
●    CRM: Refer to current CRM and Sales Data on a regular basis to keep track of sales, budgets, invoices, and leads reporting.  Keep up with sell-in and sell-through numbers, as well as updating all customer information and e-mail addresses.
●    Creativity: Get creative with dealers, and or contractors in supporting projects, creating special orders, and pricing, including setting up stock levels and floor plans. Provide cost negotiations with partners and provide appropriate solutions.
●    Concentration:  Spend more time with Key Active Stocking Dealers and Contractors to insure your loyalty to them and theirs to Gaco. Get to know the upper management of those accounts. Find a weak market and fill it. Extra effort goes a long way.  

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR  

  • BS Degree or equivalent, plus 5 – 10 years of industry sales experience specific to commercial roofing & building envelope sectors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team and across multi-disciplines
  • Business management, financial and strategic thinking skills.  Ability to prioritize and focus efforts on most profitable growth opportunities.  Ability to utilize discretionary judgment in decision making
  • Relevant product, market, and industry experience.  Strong leadership skills and the proven ability to train and motivate customers/prospects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; strong selling skills to include negotiation and closing business
  • PC literate, skilled in word processing, spreadsheet, and contact management software
  • 80% - 90% Travel Required
  • Build executable and trackable business plan with KPI’s provided
  • Sales Calls to 1 Step Distributors
  • Product and Sales Training for each customer type,inside or outside sales
  • Educate on appropriate stocking levels
  • Identify underperforming Dealers and create business plan to improve
  • Represent Gaco at local and regional trade shows
  • Meet or exceed territory sales & profit targets
