ABOUT THE ROLE
Aggregate plant millwrighting involves the installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of stationary industrial machinery.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Promotes a positive safety culture through leadership by example; performs all work activities following all relevant safety policies/procedures ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and critical success factors.
- Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls.
- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
- Operate machine tools such as drills and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery.
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts; clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- All applicants must have their Industrial Mechanic Millwright certification from the college of trades or their interprovincial red seal certification.
- Candidate must be a Licensed Red Seal Millwright
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, climbing multiple flights of stairs, lifting up to 50lbs, and working in tight areas and dusty environments.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
