ABOUT THE ROLE 
Manage all aspects related the installation of projects of various sizes in Western Canada. The Construction Manager is responsible for all items related to the delivery and installation of a project from estimate to close out. This includes but is not limited to safety, managing subtrades, coordination with the contractor, cost control, schedule considerations, crew sizes, equipment, installation plans, problem solving, project close out and feedback. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Work with sales and estimating on providing budgets and timelines for project delivery and installation.
  • Work with subtrades and vendors on pricing and project execution.
  • Work with Project Management, Engineering and Detailing, Production, Purchasing, Safety, Yard and customer for project sequencing and installation.
  • Provide and maintain a competent crew for project execution.
  • Ensure safety documentation, training and equipment is current and in good standing.
  • Ensure proper/certified equipment (crane, lifts, tools, etc) is used for project execution.
  • Set/coordinate efficient delivery times, schedule and sequencing with carrier, yard and field crew.
  • Ensure the structure is installed as per drawings, instructions and specifications.
  • Ensure projects are executed as per contractual obligations (safety, budget and schedule).
  • Attend project meetings as required.
  • Monitor and track project delivery and installation invoicing and costs
  • Promote and develop Safety culture through engagement with employees, implementation and maintenance of local and regional initiatives with an objective of “zero” safety incidents.
  • Project specific work plans, inspection and testing plans, meeting minutes, progress reports, manuals.
  • Identify all extras or credits and provide estimating with the details to generate costs.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor’s Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience. 
Field of Study Preferred: Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or related field. 
Required Work Experience: 10 years of related experience. 
Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Suite and Google Suite.
Travel Requirements: 10-20%

  • Strong construction and technical aptitude. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem solving and ingenuity
  • Computer skills training programs or equivalent work experience including software applications, communications and knowledge of network operation.
  • Good organization and planning skills.
  • Practical experience in managing construction contracts and projects. 
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude. 
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
