ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Amrize Technical Centre Manager, the Product Specialist position supports the growth of Branded products and new technologies sales by managing the transfer of knowledge and the industrialization of new products into the operational units. This position is also responsible for coordinating requests made by operations for product support. This team supports Amrize customers through New Product Development (NPD), innovative customer solutions and customer support.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Collaborate closely with the Amrize Technology & Innovation (T&I) team to drive new product initiatives from concept to launch.
- Oversee the direct market implementation and roll-out of new solutions and products.
- Conduct visibility and feasibility studies to accurately capture and define the value proposition of new initiatives.
- Ensure all new products meet and comply with relevant industry specifications and quality standards.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for managing complex customer technical requests, providing expert-level technical understanding and support.
- Lead the full proof of concept (PoC) lifecycle, including the execution of all necessary lab work and testing.
- Develop and deliver product knowledge (P&K) training sessions for new hires and Quality Control (QC) personnel.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with academic institutions and external suppliers to source and drive new initiatives and solutions.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma.
- Field of Study: Materials, Chemical, or Civil Engineering preferred.
- Work Experience: 2 years of experience in a RMX technical role.
- Training/Certifications: EIT or P.ENG designation is an asset.
- Technical Skills: Microsoft Suite and Google Suite.
- Travel Requirements: 10%.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to influence change.
- Experience managing or supervising the laboratory or field testing of cement, concrete or aggregate products.
- Experience in concrete mix design development and performance evaluation.
- Experience working with CSA A23, A3000 and ASTM standards related to construction materials.
- In depth knowledge of cement, concrete and aggregate technology.
- Experience in analyzing/reporting results and maintaining records.
- Ability to work with autonomy and lead teams at operational industrial plants and on construction sites.
- Able to perform a variety of tasks, including moderate to heavy lifting.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
