ABOUT THE ROLE
Manage the successful completion of Precast Concrete projects of various sizes and scopes in Alberta.The project manager is responsible for the coordination and success of all aspects of a project. This is done by understanding and meeting the customer’s requirements, managing engineering and detailing resources (in house and subcontracted), coordinating the production of precast concrete products, and when required, the installation the final manufactured product, through to project completion. This person would also be required to review contract data and estimates to ensure project scope and budgets are followed.The project manager needs to have developed problem solving skills, good communication, and diligent documentation skills.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Responsible for the successful and safe completion of a broad variety of precast concrete projects.
- Work in dynamic role, which will evolve, based on the challenges of each project you manage.
- Be the main point of contact for the client for all aspects of the project.
- Coordinate other Precast departments from project start-up, through design, to manufacturing, to installation, and to project close-out.
- Keep a detailed events log during the course of each project.
- Monitor project work to ensure it aligns with the agreed upon contract.
- Forecast revenue and report project financial performance.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Technical degree or diploma from a recognized institute or comparable work experience.
Additional Education Preferred: P.Eng, P.Tech, CET.
Field of Study Preferred: Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Manufacturing.
Required Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years related experience in project management/coordination, estimating, or relevant construction or manufacturing experience.
Required Technical Skills: Proficient computer skills including, Microsoft Office, scheduling software, online contractor portals.
Travel Requirements: 10%.
Additional Requirements:
- This position would be perfect for a project coordinator looking to take on a larger role or for a junior project manager looking for a broader scope of work.
- Able to read and understand construction drawings, contracts, and building specifications.
- Possess some knowledge of other construction practices (electrical, mechanical, structural, architectural, etc.).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organization and planning skills.
- Practical experience in managing contracts and projects.
- Strong team player with a positive attitude.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
