ABOUT THE ROLE
The Terminal Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the Edmonton terminal. This role ensures compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards while supporting the organization’s distribution and customer service objectives. The Terminal Manager provides strong leadership to terminal employees and collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders to meet sales and logistics requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
- Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to approximately 10 unionized employees.
- Ensure terminal operations are conducted safely and in full compliance with company and provincial regulations.
- Coordinate with sales teams, shipping locations, carriers, regional CVC, and logistics personnel to ensure efficient operations and consistent customer supply.
- Act as a role model in leadership, teamwork, continuous improvement, safety, and environmental stewardship
- Develop, manage, and monitor the terminal operating budget.
- Establish and execute long-term strategic plans to support terminal performance and future growth.
- Lead terminal improvement initiatives and capital projects in alignment with company policies and procedures.
- Oversee maintenance of terminal equipment and property through the Preventive Maintenance Program (MaintainX).
- Ensure compliance with supply chain management systems (SAP).
- Promote and enforce a strong health, safety, and environmental culture across all activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Drive operational efficiency by improving productivity, minimizing downtime, and ensuring seamless product flow
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Post-secondary education. Equivalent experience will be considered.
Field of Study Preferred: Business, Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.
Required Work Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the cement industry.
Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, SAP, and MaintainX.
Travel Requirements: 10%

- Strong Mechanical aptitude as well as strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Solid business and financial acumen.
- Project experience.
- A Logistics background is a definite asset.

- Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
- Participate and excel at all safety programs initiated by the H&S team.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
