ABOUT THE ROLE
The Maintenance Electrician reports to the Plant Manager. All duties are performed in a work-safe manner; plant safety rules are followed and the  individual works as a team member. The primary objective of this position is to support electrical and maintenance operations through the proper installation, repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of plant equipment, while contributing a proactive, continuous-improvement mindset to the ongoing development of the site. 


WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Safely perform simple to complex electrical repairs and installs within a manufacturing setting
  • Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, coaxial cables assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
  • Understand and comply with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies to assure that environment, health and safety are the first priority of the business. Actively support key safety initiatives at the facility and assist the department as needed to improve EHS performance and results.
  • Documents new and existing electrical installations.
  • Responsible for mechanical and electrical design and installation.
  • Repairs critical equipment with available parts.
  • Installs, repairs and performs preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment
  • Must be able to communicate to multiple levels within the organization
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. 
     

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: Technical diploma / Electrical apprenticeship
Additional Education Preferred: Certified Journeyperson Electrician
Required Work Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of experience as an industrial electrician in the mining or construction industry.
 
Additional Requirements:

  • Previous surface mining experience preferred but not required
  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills are required (English)
  • Electrical and mechanical skills are required
  • Ability to complete simple to complex electrical repairs and installs
  • Knowledge of products, industry terminology
  • Good communication skills – verbal and listening
  • Must be able to work within a team environment as well as independently.  
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Must understand equipment functions and processes of the primary areas
  • Candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
