ABOUT THE ROLE
The Sundance Ash Plant Manager leads a cutting-edge manufacturing facility that transforms a waste stream into a top-quality cementitious product—advancing circularity and decarbonization. You will take the operation from late stage commissioning to profitable steady state by embedding best practices in operations, reliability, maintenance, quality, and safety. It’s a high-visibility role with strong executive line-of-sight—an excellent platform to get noticed and grow your career. You are accountable for the safe, efficient operation of the plant across raw material handling, drying, milling, calcining, production, and shipping, ensuring every tonne meets quality standards.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

Complete late-stage commissioning and turn the operation into a stable, profitable operation with robust procedures and plans

Identify and solve mechanical/process bottlenecks; execute low/medium-capex improvements to double production.

Develop a robust preventive maintenance program, drive innovation in condition monitoring technologies, and strengthen internal mechanical competencies to boost reliability, uptime, and asset life.

Manage QA/QC to meet CSA A3000 / ASTM C618; drive customer satisfaction.

Develop, communicate, and deliver production/shipping schedules and inventory targets.

Drive profitability by analyzing current spend and savings opportunities, streamlining operations and processes, optimizing energy and consumables, and tracking $/t, yield, and OEE for continuous improvement.

Achieve full oversight of quarrying, drying, milling, calcining, and shipping while owning the project pipeline; building business cases, executing on time and within budget, and securing measurable returns.

Develop strong, respectful relationships with Paul First Nation and local partners; maintain transparent engagement.

Coach supervisors and operators; create growth pathways, succession plans, and a recognition culture.

Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: College diploma/University Degree
Field of Study Preferred: Process/Chemical/ Mechanical Engineering
Required Work Experience: 8–15+ years in cement/building materials, minerals processing, or heavy industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in operations or maintenance
Additional Requirements:

Start-up/commissioning experience an asset

Proven ability to diagnose/solve throughput, quality, and reliability constraints across new manufacturing processes.

Demonstrated leadership and accountability, including building teams, setting high standards, coaching effectively, and enforcing consistent performance expectations.

Proven reliability with knowledge and experience in driving preventive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Mastery of quality control, with experience delivering to CSA/ASTM specifications or possessing a strong understanding of quality standards.

Strong financial acumen, including the ability to analyze cost reports, identify savings opportunities, and create and meet monthly financial forecasts.

Excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence, capable of engaging clearly, calmly, and credibly with frontline teams, leadership, vendors, and community stakeholders.

Solid customer and market awareness, understanding supply chain management and cement value propositions, and how production decisions impact service and profit margins.

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
