Senior Project Engineer
 

ABOUT THE ROLE

This position will manage capital projects and manufacturing programs across Amrize Building Envelope manufacturing facilities. The incumbent will manage scope, schedule, and budget for capital projects and manufacturing programs, and deliver stated project and program objectives, utilizing standard project management tools and working within a Stage Gate capital process.


WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Drive process and construction safety by ensuring 100% adherence to site safety policies, including LOTO, permit-to-work, and PPE protocols across all managed programs.
  • Lead complex projects from concept to completion using Stage Gate capital processes, managing scopes, budgets, and detailed MS Project schedules to ensure timely delivery.
  • Support manufacturing through debottlenecking, yield gain efforts, and innovative engineering solutions, while upholding MOC and CQV (Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation) standards.
  • Investigate and specify new technologies and equipment configurations to meet business objectives and ensure systems are adaptable to evolving product specifications.
  • Coordinate project charters and design reviews with site leadership and stakeholders, ensuring top-down communication and alignment on execution plans and resource needs.
  • Propose and initiate new programs to enhance business capabilities, contributing to long-term engineering strategy and the implementation of new technologies.
  • Provide expert guidance to multidisciplinary teams and coach junior engineers, fostering technical development and staying current on industry regulations and advancements.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
  • Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred majors are: Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in office software such as MS Office / Google Suite / MS Project or similar.
  • At least 5 years of project management (planning and execution) experience in the processing industries (building materials, chemicals, paper, etc.).
  • Experience working within a Stage Gate capital process.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to set priorities, collect and document project requirements, successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to be a quick and eager learner of new material and think holistically through complex problems, with technical and non-technical components.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability with a proactive and collaborative style that works well in teams and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional organizational, time-management and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as the ability to work in a team atmosphere to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with key stakeholder groups.
  • Strong collaboration, influence, and change management skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
  • Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • It will require up to 35 - 50% domestic travel.
  • The function will predominantly be office / factory floor based. However due to the nature of Project Engineering it will inherently require occasional access to elevated areas, confined spaces,
    and constricted access.
  • Environmental conditions may include cold, wet, hot, dirty spaces.
  • Frequent Walking, Standing, Sitting, Ability to carry moderate weight (up to 40lbs).
