JOB DESCRIPTION: Amrize Cement Inc. seeks a Sr. Process Engineer in Florence, CO to lead plant discussions to improve throughput, efficiency, quality, and environmental performance. Essential duties include:

  • Utilize chemical science and engineering principals to diagnose issues and develop innovative solutions to solve problems and increase efficiency.
  • Provide chemical science and engineering-based technical support to the plant’s production, quality, and environmental functions. Understand strategies, priorities, and optimization techniques that assist the plant in attainment of plant and company objectives with regard to efficiency and environmental performance.
  • Utilize chemical science and engineering principles to provide technical support with regard to the implementation of new equipment and/or new procedures including training of plant personnel as required.
  • Coordinate and participate in improvement of the Plant’s technical capabilities.
  • Initiate process optimization in collaboration with Quality, Production and Maintenance departments to ensure maximum and efficient utilization of the plant’s equipment.
  • Elevate the technical knowledge and practices of all facets of the operation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control procedures, communicating problems in operations, unwarranted deviations from established standards, and violations of policy or law.
  • Collaborate with kiln coach, control room supervisors, production supervisor, coordinators, and managers, corporate engineers to analyze problems and improve operation efficiency.
  • Work in conjunction with quality and production departments to improve throughput and quality as well as efficiency.

This position requires up to 20% national/domestic travel.

 

REQUIREMENTS: The position of Sr. Process Engineer requires a bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering/scientific field. The position requires 10 years of progressively-responsible, post- baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a production, process, or operations position within the heavy industrial or utilities sector. Additionally, the position requires 5 years of professional experience with each of the following:

  1. Process Optimization and Improvement
  2. Data Analysis and Performance Monitoring
  3. Project Leadership
  4. Staff Training and Development
  5. Resource and Operations Management
  6. Continuous Improvement
