ABOUT THE ROLE
The Labor Relations Coordinator plays a vital role in the company’s labor relations function by supporting the Director of Labor Relations and HR team members as they prepare for negotiations and implement contract changes. This position serves as a central point of coordination between labor, payroll, and HR teams, helping to drive proactive labor management.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Assist in the preparation and support of collective bargaining negotiations by analyzing bargaining unit demographics, job classifications, wage structures, benefit costs and other critical data.
- Prepare cost models and comparative analyses, including local economic conditions. Coordinate with payroll to implement updated wages and benefit contributions, and verify accuracy of changes after contract ratification.
- Maintain accurate records of union wage rates, dues, and fund contribution rates within payroll systems.
- Support audits involving wage, benefit, and dues compliance, providing documentation and data as requested.
- Manage a centralized database of all collective bargaining agreements, including expiration dates, notice timelines, and key provisions.
- Maintain a grievance and arbitration tracking log, ensuring timely and organized recordkeeping of each case from filing through resolution.
- Track and send timely notices to unions as required under each agreement.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business, or a related field. Required Work Experience: 2+ years of HR, or payroll coordination role.
Experience in a labor environment is preferred. Required Training/Certifications:
Required Technical Skills: Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Travel Requirements: 10%
Additional Requirements:
- Strong analytical skills, including experience with wage modeling or payroll systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Familiarity with union environments, collective bargaining agreements, and labor law is a plus.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
