ABOUT THE ROLE
The Mechanical Engineer will perform design work associated with plant CAPEX projects, development of new equipment and upgrading of existing equipment to optimise plant operation, increase capacity, improve safety and reliability.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Compile OEM information (operation maintenance manual) and participate in the creation of preventative maintenance routines (PMRs), spares requirements and bills of materials (BOMs) for new equipment.
- Provide technical expertise to all process areas.
- Prepare cost estimates and justifications for the capital plan.
- Create projects in PPM.
- Planning, budgeting, scheduling and efficient execution of plant projects.
- Interface with contractors utilized in plant and project work, including solicitation budgetary quotations, selection and field direction.
- Interface with vendors, including evaluation of equipment and recommendation of plant items for procurement.
- Assistance with preventative/predictive maintenance programs (Inspection, Vibration, Oil Analysis, NDT, etc.) to ensure optimum equipment availability.
- Lead the DSCQP (design safety construction quality program) at the local site by completing required inspections of steel & concrete structures and developing/executing plans to mitigate risks.
- Analysis and elimination of repetitive problems through root cause analysis, Paretos, statistical review, FMEA and similar techniques.
- Assist with facilitation of continuous improvement processes such as RCA, FMEA, etc.
- Responsible for communicating maintenance engineering improvement needs within the facility to the maintenance manager.
- Assist with planning and supervision of plant outages, ensuring minimal impact on the critical path
- Work with area leaders and warehouse staff to optimize spares inventory

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree or 5 years of equivalent experience
Field of Study Preferred: Mechanical Engineering
Required Work Experience: 5+ years in heavy industrial mechanical maintenance, mechanical project work, plant construction or supervision.
Required Technical Skills: SAP, Autocad, Project, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint , etc.)
Travel Requirements: 5%

- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test.
