ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Repairman is responsible for implementing the PM program (Preventative Maintenance) in a heavy industrial steel mill setting. This role performs necessary repairs independently and as part of a team, focusing on diagnosing key components for reliability and advising on corrective actions while adhering to an established safety program with pre-job assessments and daily inspections
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Function as a safety leader by demonstrating a personal commitment to working safely and ensuring the continuous elimination of work-related risks, promoting a safe working environment.
- Function as an integral member of the operations team with a focus on plant performance and continuous improvement, working closely with other functions for operational continuity.
- Be responsible for the maintenance of data, including PM reporting, inspections, long-term planning of maintenance requests, and spare part inventories.
- Provide leadership and accountability for reporting accurate downtime notifications and supporting other contractors in the blast furnace environment in coordination of work priority.
- Take the lead on process improvements and participate in review meetings.
- Guide physical inventory tracking and control, ensuring accurate ordering of parts and materials through communication with purchasing.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: OSSD required.
- Required Work Experience: Experience needed in pneumatic and hand tools (Physically demanding job).
- Required Training/Certifications: CWB ticket required.
- Required Technical Skills: Familiarity with use of email and smartphone use.
- Travel Requirements: N/A.

- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
