ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Lead Shift Maintenance Mechanic to support operations at the Millville Quarry in Millville, WV. This position will be responsible for installing and assembling new machines and equipment. Maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery. This position hours are typically between 6:00am-11:00pm. Hours may vary depending on the needs of the business.

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Lead and direct daily maintenance activities, assigning work to maintenance personnel and ensuring repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on crushing, screening, conveying, and material handling equipment, as well as heavy mobile equipment used in quarry operations.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical system failures to minimize equipment downtime and maintain production goals.
  • Conduct routine inspections of plant equipment and identify potential issues before they result in equipment failure or production interruptions.
  • Coordinate with operations personnel to prioritize maintenance work and schedule planned shutdowns to maximize plant productivity.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts inventory while ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with all MSHA regulations, company safety policies, and environmental standards, while promoting a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to maintenance team members, fostering continuous improvement and supporting the development of employee skills..
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Field of Study Preferred: Preferably a technical degree or certification in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field, along with specialized training in quarry equipment and machinery.
Required Work Experience: Minimum 5 years 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy industrial equipment, preferably in an aggregates, mining, quarry, or similar production environment.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to supervise, mentor, and motivate a maintenance team while promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems, with strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience maintaining crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other aggregate processing equipment.
  • Working knowledge of welding, fabrication, and equipment rebuilding techniques.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and a thorough understanding of MSHA regulations and safe maintenance practices.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, respond to equipment breakdowns as needed, and perform the physical demands of the position, including lifting, climbing, and working in varying weather conditions.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
