ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, is seeking a Mechanic whom is responsible for deploying across multiple active project environments to inspect, diagnose, overhaul, and repair heavy haul vehicles, commercial ready-mix mixer fleets, and heavy earth-moving support equipment.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Ensures delivery trucks operate flawlessly, preventing breakdowns from blocking active client placement avenues, paving paths, or haul routing lanes.
- Travels fluidly between temporary plant installations and delivery zones within the designated territory to provide regular fleet PMs and emergency field support.
- Advanced mechanical mastery over both non-agitator wet-mix dump units and intricate dry-mix ready-mix trucks, specifically troubleshooting complex drum rotation gear drives, transit water pumps, and hydraulic lines.
- Upholds maximum fleet safety parameters.
- Executes heavy engine, brake, and chassis interventions using proper heavy jack stands, blocking arrays, and EPA-compliant fluid containment units.
- Maintains exact ready-mix drum revolution speeds and internal blade structures to ensure truck fleets strictly adhere to the mandatory 90-minute / 300-revolution quality specs.
- Directly eliminates financial exposure by preventing costly delivery transit breakdowns that lead to rejected loads and material set-up.
- Maximizes tire lifecycle utilities and fleet parts efficiency.
- Meticulously executes and files mandatory Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration ( FMCSA ) logs, DOT inspection records, brake certifications, and internal fleet maintenance sheets.
- Reports directly to the regional Maintenance Manager while coordinating daily site truck issues with the Driver Lead.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must have a valid driver's license, Class A or B commercial driver’s license preferred
- 3 years experience directly related to the duties or mechanics school graduate (Heavy equipment diesel engines and transmissions)
- Requires working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
- They may be required to work long and unpredictable hours.
- Must be able to stand for long periods on varied surfaces.
- Must be able to move freely, including the ability to stoop, crawl, and bend at the knees and waist.
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds unassisted.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
