ABOUT THE ROLE
The Regional HR Manager – Cement serves as a strategic HR business partner, directly collaborating with the Director of HR – Cement Canada and Geocycle and providing leadership and HR/LR direction supporting the leadership and employees in multiple sites and disciplines, in union and non-union environments. In this leadership role, the Regional HR Manager is responsible for shaping and optimizing the organizational structure to drive both operational and strategic success. This role oversees talent management, fosters employee development, drives performance management, leads Employee & Labour Relations activities in Quebec, and leads change management efforts. A pivotal member of the leadership team, the Regional HR Manager plays an instrumental role in strengthening the organization’s overall capabilities.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Demonstrate strong leadership, teamwork, customer focus, and operational support ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Support the implementation of HR strategies to assure appropriate employee resources are available to achieve planned results.
  • Oversee performance management activities—including development plans, appraisals, bonuses, staffing, training, engagement, compliance, and labor relations.
  • Align with the organization’s vision and understand key value drivers impacting growth and financial performance.
  • Serve as an expert on company culture and the employee value proposition, aiming to foster a high-performance, highly engaged work environment.
  • Collaborate with the Learning and Development team and the broader HR team to identify training needs and resources for targeted employees.
  • Support recruitment and selection, collaborate on compensation and employment terms, and oversee new employee orientation and onboarding.
  • Ensure legal compliance by applying relevant HR laws, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization in hearings.
  • Lead the Collective Bargaining negotiations on behalf of the Company.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours. 

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree 
  • Required Work Experience: Minimum 10 to 15 years of progressive HR generalist experience 
  • Required Technical Skills: Microsoft suite, Success Factors ERP 
  • Travel Requirements: 50%

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Bilingualism in English and French is a requirement.
  • Quickly build relationships and understand business needs to offer solutions.
  • Handle difficult situations with influence, and have strong employee relations skills including investigations and conflict resolution.
  • Understanding of HRIS, HR automation, data analytics, and leveraging advanced HR technologies like AI and cloud computing.
  • Leadership experience, project management skills, and knowledge of organizational development are essential.
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex matrixed environment, resilience under pressure, and strong communication skills.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
