ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize, a leading supplier of high-quality construction materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Production Supervisor to support operations within our Ready Mix product line. The Production Supervisor supports operations within its Ready Mix product line across Central, Southern, Western, and Eastern Maryland, with placement based on business needs.The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a Ready Mix concrete plant, ensuring production is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards. This role leads plant personnel, coordinates equipment maintenance, optimizes production schedules, and supports the timely delivery of high-quality concrete products to meet customer and project requirements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong operational, safety, and team management skills who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Oversee daily Ready Mix plant operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable production while meeting customer demand and delivery schedules and coordinate plant personnel, including assigning daily tasks, monitoring performance, and promoting a strong culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Supervise concrete production processes, ensuring accurate batching, material handling, mix consistency, and compliance with company quality standards.
  • Monitor production schedules and dispatch coordination to ensure timely delivery of concrete while maximizing plant efficiency and minimizing downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including OSHA standards, company policies, environmental requirements, and proper operating procedures.
  • Perform quality control oversight, including monitoring concrete specifications, mix designs, testing procedures, and corrective actions when needed.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and equipment inspections for mixers, conveyors, loaders, batch plants, and other production equipment to maintain operational reliability.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues involving plant equipment, production processes, and material handling systems to quickly resolve disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including batch reports, inventory levels, maintenance documentation, safety records, and operational reports.
  • Manage raw material inventory, including aggregates, cement, admixtures, and other production materials to support uninterrupted plant operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, enhance quality, and optimize plant performance.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, drivers, maintenance teams, and management to address operational needs and ensure successful project execution.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE 'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education:Bachelor’s degree preferred in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Industrial Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Required Work Experience: 3–5+ years of experience in ready-mix, concrete production, or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Travel Requirements: 25- 50%
  • Proven experience overseeing Ready Mix operations, concrete batching processes, and plant production activities.
  • Understanding of concrete mix designs, batching procedures, material specifications, testing requirements, and quality standards.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a plant or industrial setting.
  • Ability to lead plant employees, coordinate daily activities, provide direction, and promote a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Experience operating and maintaining Ready Mix plant equipment, including batch plants, mixers, conveyors, loaders, and material handling systems.
  • Ability to monitor and manage raw materials, including aggregates, cement, admixtures, and other plant supplies.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, workplace safety practices, environmental regulations, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, drivers, maintenance teams, customers, and management while maintaining accurate production records.
  • Ability to identify equipment issues, coordinate repairs, perform inspections, and minimize production downtime.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and raw material handling.
  • Ability to analyze production data and implement process improvements for efficiency and cost control.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment


Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
