ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Fill Site Safety Coordinator. In this role, you will help ensure the fill site operation safety by supporting the management and employees to follow and adhere to Amrize safety policy, procedures, protocols, and standards. Also, you will provide guidance and support to implement the Amrize Health and Safety Management System (HSMS) and strengthen the H&S competencies across the site. You will provide day-to-day guidance to management, staff, and supervisors in the continued building of a strong H&S culture.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Coordinate and oversee safe truck traffic in the fill site area and across the operation.
  • Create and edit safe work procedures for required tasks throughout the operation.
  • Conduct monthly and annually fire extinguisher inspections; Inspect emergency response supplies.
  • Provide H&S expertise and support to site management and supervisors for the management of H&S; Attend Ministry of Mines inspections and implement required corrective actions.
  • Perform anchor point and fall protection equipment inspections; Conduct handrail, ladders, stairway, and walkway safety inspections.
  • Inspect hoists, lifts, slings, and rigging equipment for wear, damage and compliance; Perform inspections and maintenance checks on man lifts, skid steers, and forklifts.
  • Perform general condition and behavioral audit across the site.
  • Maintain and accurately record inspection logs and ensure all documentation is up to date and accessible; Adhere to the HSE routine schedule, performing the required task in a timely manner.
  • Help with other administrative duties as required.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Work experience: 3+ years of relevant experience
Required Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite. SAP experience preferred.


Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of H&S standards and safety regulations is a plus.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to identify safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
  • Comfortable working in varied environmental conditions (indoor/outdoor, hot/cold).
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend and climb ladders throughout the workday.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
