ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize Canada is seeking a ticketed Red Seal Millwright to maintain, improve, and optimize the mechanical operations for our two Asphalt Plants located in Langley and Richmond.Responsible for collaborating within the maintenance team to service all plant equipment, proactively prevent breakdowns, and minimize downtime across both asphalt plants. 

 

WHAT THEY’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Perform planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance on heavy industrial asphalt equipment to ensure maximum plant uptime.
  • Service and repair plant components including pugmills, large burners, drums, heated silos, and baghouse dust collection systems, among other key components.
  • Maintain, service, and repair heavy plant equipment, including conveyor belts, screen decks, gearboxes, crushers.
  • Execute mechanical fitting, welding, fabrication, and rigging to safely replace worn or damaged components.
  • Respond urgently to plant breakdowns during night shifts and weekends to restore operations promptly.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues to identify root causes and implement effective, long-term solutions.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment history using preventive maintenance (PM) software/CMMS
  • Service both the Richmond and Langley asphalt plant locations as operational needs dictate.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. 

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent 
Additional Education Preferred: Electrical aptitude or welding training 
Field of Study Preferred: Industrial Mechanic, Millwright, or related trades program 
Required Work Experience: Minimum 2 to 5 years of practical maintenance experience in heavy industrial, aggregate, cement, or asphalt manufacturing environments 
Required Training/Certifications: Valid Journeyperson / Red Seal Certification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), OR an active Apprentice. Valid Class 5 Driver’s License Required 
Technical Skills: Proficiency in heavy mechanical systems, combustion systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and fabrication 
Travel Requirements: 0% overnight travel. Daily local travel between Langley and Richmond plants as required 


Additional Requirements: 

  • Availability to work standard Monday to Friday shifts (6:30 AM to 3:00 PM), with required flexibility for overtime and weekends for planned plant maintenance, component repairs, and emergency breakdowns .
  • Physical capability to climb, lift, balance, and work in varying environmental conditions (hot, cold, and dusty).
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
