ABOUT THE ROLE

The sales representative will be responsible for developing and increasing the company's sales by promoting ready-mix concrete products, while retaining existing customers and prospecting new potential customers in the Greater Montreal area (South Shore) and surrounding areas. The candidate will advise customers on the materials and solutions best suited to their construction needs, in accordance with the standards and schedule of their project. The main objectives of this role within the company are negotiating material prices and terms of sale, monitoring delivery schedules, ensuring order accuracy, satisfying customers, and maintaining long-term relationships to encourage repeat purchases.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Manage a portfolio of a 250 customer base, including, and not limited to, forward order book, contact information list, project opportunity, and bid follow up.
  • Visit customers and negotiate prices within the guidelines established by management.
  • Investigate each customer's needs by doing customer discovery activities such as cold calls, on-site visits, and relationship development events.
  • Promote value-added concrete products, the various AMRIZE product lines, and new GHG-reducing solutions from the catalog.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Logistics departments to ensure on-time quality product.
  • Resolve technical problems and assist customers with challenges on construction sites.
  • Prepare summaries of financial information and quotes regarding customers and projects in order to facilitate decision making by supervisor.
  • Conclude commercial agreements with customers and develop long-term business relationships with them in order to promote repeat business.
  • Gather market data, including economic, customer and competitive activity, and promote the corporate image.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Postsecondary degree, preferably in marketing, business management, economics, communications, or civil engineering technology. A college diploma in Civil Engineering is preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years of required work experience.
  • Microsoft suite, SAP, Sales Force, Qlik View.
  • In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and experience using customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is required since the Sales Representative interacts with clients and organizations. Excellent communication skills are also required.
  • Knowledge of concrete products and basic knowledge of sales and marketing techniques.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and clean record.
  • Travel Requirements: 60%.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
