ABOUT THE ROLE
To provide expert plant technical operational knowledge to ensure all of the RMX plants operate in the most safe, efficient and reliable manner. The ACM Manufacturing Manager is a key member of the Central Canada’s manufacturing team through the management, coordination, implementation, communication and support of the various operational performance initiatives. This position requires advanced computer skills, ideally a good working knowledge of CAD, attention to detail, positive professional attitude, ability to manage multiple priorities, strong familiarity with ready mix plant operation and the ability to work both in a team environment, as well as on an individual basis.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Management of Capex planning through execution; lead in the management, development, approval and execution of various capital-based projects.
- Provide field support to the Manufacturing Team through experience, education, involvement and coordination of various onsite performance activities.
- Manage and facilitate onsite performance-based reviews, audits and operational exercises such as Maintenance Module surveys and Plant Optimization.
- Coordinate, track and support operational training initiatives such as Batcher training and Chatbot.
- Manage operational communication between the Manufacturing Team and operations across Central Canada.
- Ensure all site maintenance work is performed by adequately trained workers under the direct supervision of competent leadership.
- Ensure the most effective preventative maintenance program is actively used to increase longevity of plants and equipment while reducing costs.
- Identify and evaluate capex improvement projects and understand ROI.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: Degree or diploma in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical preferred).
- Work Experience: Minimum of 10 years working in a manufacturing role, ideally in Ready Mix Operations.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel knowledge and computer skills.
- Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with SAP, Power BI, Qlicksense, Word, CAD or similar systems.
- Travel: Ability to travel 50% of the time away from the regular worksite, including 20% overnight travel.
Additional Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Comfortable and confident in presentation skills.
- Self-starter who works independently with minimal supervision.
- Determined, persistent, and inquisitive nature.
- Ability to influence without authority.
- Results-driven and goal-orientated.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
