ABOUT THE ROLE

This Assistant Plant Manager reports to the Plant Manager and prepares operating schedules and coordinates production activities to ensure safe, quality, low-cost production to meet customer specifications. The Assistant Plant Manager manages salaried and hourly staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs, ensuring that site goals are met while adhering to approved budgets.  

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

•    Promotes a culture of performance and exceeding expected results
•    Drive and track financial performance via weekly and monthly operation forecast.
•    Effectively develops goals and objectives to implement actions, track performance and continuously look for opportunities for improvement
•    Balance inventory and sales needs to manage and minimize working capital impact
•    Drive quality for customer retention
•    Ensures a quality product within specifications and timely delivery to clients
•    Works closely with peer plant managers and operations manager to develop best practices, processes and to ensure plant activities are optimized and costs are best in class
•    Implement and follow best practices for maintenance, production and shipping processes and reaching key perfomance indicators (KPI)
•    Effectively use Company resources and programs to drive operational excellence and assist with the development of aggregates specific resources as needed
•    Follows the HR business cycle (Annual performance review, Annual Objective setting, Individual Development Plans, Mid-Year Reviews, Career& Succession Planning.)
•    Participate in the development of emerging leaders to be ready to move into more responsible roles
•    Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education:  Bachelor's degree or 5 years of equivalent experience

Field of Study Preferred:  Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Management
    
Required Work Experience:  3-5 years Aggregate Mining and related Raw Materials Plant Production experience

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test
