Were seeking a Field Technical Representative who's ready to be part of an innovative, people-first brand shaping the future of the roofing industry.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

Duro-Last Roofing, the world’s largest manufacturer of prefabricated roofing systems, has an opening for a Field Technical Representative; the ideal candidate would reside in Washington DC, Maryland, or Northern Virginia. The position aims to support Duro-Last contractors and develop new relationships and opportunities in this area. The ideal candidate will have a strong roofing background, preferably in the commercial building products segment, and the ability to be hands on, strong organizational skills, and manage multiple tasks while ensuring accuracy. 


WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Responsible for working with existing DL contractors to increase and maintain installation and specification proficiency.
  • Provide jobsite trainings to new contractors in order to ensure smooth first, second, and third jobs for new customers.
  • Provide jobsite trainings and assistance to current experienced Duro-Last contractors in order to ensure contractors are knowledgeable on new and improved tactics and techniques.
  • Provide field measuring help for contractors during the order and quoting process.
    • Core cuts
    • Pull Tests
  • Attend pre-construction meetings and job walks throughout the territory.
  • Provide interim inspection services on in-progress projects.
  • Provide jobsite observation to ensure projects are going smoothly and communication to building owners or project managers.
  • Conduct in-shop Duro-Last education classes for crews and sales teams of Duro-Last contractors.
  • Contractor development and growth in the assigned territory
    • Recruit new contractors
  • Educate contractor sales force, roofing crews, and estimators on the Duro-Last Roofing system and products provided by Duro-Last.
  • Represent the company at trades shows and roofing association organizations
  • Misc. sales functions and business development
  • Develop relationships with General Contractors throughout region
  • Developing prospect lists of up and coming new roofing contractors for regional market.
  • Educate and assist sales reps in selling to roofing consultants.
  • Travel regionally to increase our volume of business through architects, roofing consultants, specifiers, corporate accounts, contractors, trade shows, and building owners.
  • Development of business plans with growth targets, specific objectives, and implementation strategies for continual growth and market share of the specification market.
  • Participation in planning and formation of a marketing and sales strategy for the region.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
  • Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
  • Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Four-year degree in business, or related field required or equivalent experience
  • Commercial Roofing background preferred
  • Prior sales experience in the construction industry is highly desired
  • Must be organized and self-motivated
  • Must be able to travel frequently in the assigned territory as required
  • Must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills
