ABOUT THE ROLE
As a member of the Portable Crushing team, the Maintenance/Labourer is responsible for the off hours maintenance activity for their specific area. The Maintenance position will execute the tasks required to maintain the conveyors, crushers, screens, and related mobile equipment in accordance with Amrize’s Best Practices and Policies. The incumbent will implement internal processes and controls to drive maintenance efficiency and cost optimization while ensuring worker/contractor safety through compliance with Amrize and Provincial Safety legislation, policies and procedures. This position requires shift work (Nights) and occasional weekend work, with travel with the portable plants as required.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Promote safety culture through engagement with employees, subcontractors and suppliers, implementation and maintenance of local and regional initiatives with an objective of “zero” safety incidents.
- Administer and promote safety policies, processes and review procedures to ensure that site meets or exceeds all Amrize and Regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure that site meets or exceeds all Amrize and Regulatory guidelines.
- Report and manage environmental spills to site management as they occur and operate equipment effectively to minimize carbon footprint of machinery.
- Ensure equipment is operated to original equipment manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices.
- Ensure daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections regarding preventative maintenance actions are scheduled and completed.
- Perform adjustments and clean up on equipment to ensure equipment runs efficiently, and perform repairs as required.
- Perform general housekeeping tasks to ensure the site is presentable.
- Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the site.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- High School Diploma.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Industrial plant operation/maintenance experience.
- Heavy equipment operation experience is considered an asset.
- First Aid, WHMIS, and Surface Miner training.
- Confined space and Working-at-heights training.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform extensive manual labor tasks.
- Specific mobile equipment training.
Additional Requirements:
- Travel may be required locally as the plant moves.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
