ABOUT THE ROLE

The Director of Quality is responsible for establishing a corporate quality assurance function that drives a culture of customer satisfaction, positively impacting the Malarkey brand. Champions continuous improvement, defect reduction initiatives, and best practices that contain and prevent the manufacture of defective products. Actively works with internal resources to establish a robust Quality Management System. Initiate and implement quality improvement activities to improve the performance of the company’s product lines. The Director of Quality will have dotted-line oversight of the Quality Managers at each manufacturing site, as well as direct reports for this role.

 

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

 

  • Partners with internal resources within Malarkey and other business units to develop, manage, and integrate a Quality Management System (QMS) within Malarkey facilities.
  • Establishes quality and reliability standards through a strong understanding of product performance, process capability, and customer expectations.
  • Establishes raw material standards and partners with cross-functional groups to develop new raw material sources that enhance product quality and performance.
  • Partners with Sales and other functions that work closely with external customers to ensure the “Voice of the Customer” drives product and process improvements.
  • Strengthens in-process product inspection standards by studying current processes and recommending/implementing improvements that include automated in-line inspection technologies.

 

 

 

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in science or engineering is required.
  • Broad knowledge of the theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control.
  • Experience in utilizing Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a similar position within a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Minimum of five years of leadership experience. Roofing and asphalt experience is preferred.
