ABOUT THE ROLE

The Gaco, Regional Technical Manager (RTM) is a dynamic leader of people and processes for the Technical Services team at Amrize Building Envelope (ABE) division. Amrize Building Envelope is based out of Nashville. This RTM position is for the East Region.

The RTM is a customer facing position responsible for technical and warranty related decisions in an assigned region, as well as managing a cross-functional team whose primary responsibilities include providing technical guidance and training on the use and installation of ABE products, review of submitted warranty requests, and inspection of installed roof systems for warranty. The RTM must work with the Regional Manager and the Sales Reps in their region to promote, sell, and support our products while controlling our long-term warranty liability and ensuring contractor satisfaction with Gaco a division ACS Amrize.

The East Region consists of: South Central, Northeast and Southeast areas of the United States. This role is hybrid-work eligible for those who are in or near Nashville and will work out of the corporate office. There is also a fully remote-work option available for qualified candidates who live within the South Central, Northeast or Southeast region of the country.

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Be a team Leader, coach and mentor teammates, and challenge personnel to grow to meet assigned company objectives.
  • Be the final decision maker for technical and warranty issues in the region and provide written correspondence as needed.
  • Work with internal and external customers to understand, document, and troubleshoot issues that arise in the PIN approval, roof application, and warranty issuance processes.
  • Read, learn, and follow system instructions to operate in the SAP environment effectively.
  • Train office-based teammates perform their functions to company standards.
  • Perform ride along reviews of technical representatives to ensure consistent inspection quality in the field.
  • Manage Field Technical Representative productivity to KPI objectives.
  • Educate teammates on, and enforce, corporate policies and procedures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and to conduct root cause analysis to understand the reason an issue occurred and how to prevent it from recurring.
  • Ability to hold teammates accountable for poor performance or disruptive behavior.
  • Ability to read blueprints, construction drawings and specifications and be knowledgeable of the commercial roofing trade and technical field operations.
  • Ability to travel 50%.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a similar field;

OR

  • Minimum 8 years’ active duty in a construction trade military occupational specialty (MOS) (verified by DD214);

OR

  • High school diploma and minimum of 10 years of practical commercial roofing experience, with experience in directly managing roofing or technical crews.

Additional Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience on the technical or installation side of the commercial roofing trade.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Must be able to travel overnight up to 50% of the time by air or car.
  • Experience as a Project Manager, Supervisor, leader of complex teams.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test.
