ABOUT THE ROLE
The General Manager is a senior leadership role in Amrize, and is responsible for the P&L performance of the Asphalt & Construction, Aggregates and Ready Mix Concrete businesses in Saskatchewan. The incumbent champions a performance culture that prioritizes people, health and safety as core values. Based in Saskatoon, the role involves developing and executing on market-specific strategies and operational plans, and provides direction across safety, sales, marketing, logistics, and quality control. This leadership role oversees regulatory compliance, innovation, and mine planning to drive competitive positioning and long-term reserve growth. By proactively engaging functional leaders and coaching high-performance teams, the incumbent ensures all products and services meet Amrize's standards and are delivered with maximum efficiency to realize the organization’s strategic vision.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Provides strategic leadership through coaching, performance management, and team development while ensuring clear goals, communication, and accountability.
- Achieve market EBITDA, Cash & Health & Safety stretch targets.
- Defines the Vision and Strategy for the market, utilizes KPIs and market intelligence to improve performance, drive long-term business sustainability, secure resources, and expand revenue opportunities.
- Leads sales and logistics processes, ensures compliance with pricing policies, manages key accounts and contracts, and contributes to company-wide goals.
- Supports plant production and efficiency by optimizing processes, managing costs, overseeing labor relations, and aligning with technical and safety standards.
- Full accountability for the Saskatchewan business P&L.
- Development and execution of CAPEX & Growth plan.
- Proactively engaging functional and support groups
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: Undergraduate Degree or Masters.
- Field of Study Preferred: Business, Engineering, Finance.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 10 years of Management experience, ideally with both operational and commercial experience. Experience in Construction and Project management is considered an asset.
- Technical Skills: Strong background in operational, commercial, and logistics management in the construction, mining, or materials industry.
- Travel Requirements: 25% travel required.
- License: Valid driver’s license required.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
