ABOUT THE ROLE
The Assistant Plant Manager has direct responsibility for the plant sites including safety, environment, operations, sales, maintenance, inventory management, performance, quality, financial performance, employee relations, plant’s image and community relations. The Assistant Plant Manager is a professional who understands the value of planning and processes and takes a disciplined approach to execution, while working closely and effectively with safety, environment, sales, credit, and customer service, performance, finance and Human Resources.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Pursue a culture of safety with an objective of “zero” injuries or incidents.
- Establish and enforce environmental policies and processes, ensuring site operations meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership for the processing, storage, and shipping of concrete, ensuring efficient and optimized plant operations.
- Ensure optimal operation and maintenance of all fixed and mobile equipment to maximize plant uptime.
- Implement and maintain processes that ensure all products meet quality specifications and customer expectations.
- Support revenue goals by managing group commercial goals, customer relationships, and contributing to annual budgeting.
- Use KPIs, financial reports, and operational metrics to track performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organization, equipment condition, and overall site appearance.
- Manage, develop, and support direct reports through recruitment, performance management, and recognition.
- Oversee inventory levels and coordinate closely with suppliers, operations, and accounting.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: Post-secondary education, undergraduate degree in related field (Business, Engineering, Technology, etc.).
- Experience: 1 to 3 years experience in a supervisor role.
- Travel: Ability to meet travel requirements of 40%.
- Skills: Ability to negotiate tough situations such as prices, delays, and claims.
- Skills: Ability to self-analyze sales success and failures.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
