ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Quality Control Supervisor provides technical leadership across multiple pits, quarries, asphalt plants, and construction operations throughout the Okanagan and surrounding BC Interior markets. This role ensures that all products consistently meet performance specifications, comply with regulatory and internal standards, and deliver value to our customers - while supporting operational efficiency, cost control, and a strong culture of safety.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Safety Leadership – Champion a safety-first mindset across labs, field teams, and production operations; lead JHAs, coordinate training, and ensure compliance with Amrize policies and government regulations.
  • Quality Oversight – Asphalt & Aggregates – Monitor production and testing for asphalt and aggregate materials across all sites to ensure compliance with internal specifications, regulatory standards, and customer requirements; maintain lab accreditation and quality documentation.
  • Mix Design & Performance Optimization – Develop, optimize, and monitor hot mix asphalt and aggregate blends; lead root cause investigations to resolve quality issues and maintain consistent material performance.
  • Field Verification & Construction Support – Oversee QA/QC during material placement on construction projects; coordinate density and compliance testing; work with crews to ensure proper installation practices and resolve field performance issues.
  • Operational & Technical Support – Collaborate with site managers, plant operators, and pit supervisors to ensure consistent product performance; provide technical guidance for bids, material selection, and reserve planning.
  • Inventory & Materials Management – Manage asphalt aggregate inventory, conduct stockpile surveys, reconcile SAP data with physical inventories, and report to support production planning and cost control.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Engagement – Act as technical lead for customer-facing quality matters; participate in pre-construction, planning, and post-project meetings; support technical discussions with consultants, municipalities, and contractors.
  • Team Leadership & Development – Hire, train, and mentor QC technicians; promote technical competence, safe practices, and continuous improvement within the QC team; support cross-functional training initiatives.
  • Financial & Resource Accountability – Manage lab and testing budgets, optimize material usage, testing schedules, and equipment utilization; minimize cost-of-quality claims and improve operational efficiency.
  • Success & Performance Measures – Ensure high product consistency and customer satisfaction, maintain strong technical capability across QC staff, resolve quality issues efficiently, and position Amrize as a trusted, technically capable supplier in the BC Interior. 
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Diploma required.
Field of Study Preferred: Business, Civil Technology
Required Work Experience: 5 - 7 years of relevant experience.
Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Suite of products, and Google Suite, SAP, Drone based technology.
Travel Requirements: 15%

 

Additional Requirements:  

  • Deep working knowledge of specific provincial and municipal regulatory standards mentioned, including MoTT (Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure), MMCD (Master Municipal Construction Documents), and various municipal specifications.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
