Gaco Enverge is the adhesives, coatings, sealants, and spray foam division of Amrize Building Envelope offering a comprehensive range of solutions for a variety of industries from construction to marine, aerospace, containment, and wind energy. Our brands with a proven history of success include ERSystems®, Permathane®, Tacky Tape®,  STA’-PUT®, Pacific Polymers®, Acryl-R®, Miracle®, Elastek®, American Safety Technologies®, PolySpec®, Thiokol®, Enverge, and Gaco®

This role produces, applies, and tests lab scale products from all of the division’s brands as well as competitive products and raw materials supporting as necessary our internal R&D groups e.g. Product Development, R&D Services, and Codes. Performs duties in support of Gaco Enverge division strategic initiatives and Amrize Building Envelope enterprise strategy.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Mix lab scale material following specific formulation details
• Apply lab scale material for testing via various methods as appropriate for different products. This may include for example but not limited to rolling, brushing, or
spraying coatings or spraying foam insulation.

• Test and report re. raw materials, internal (Gaco Enverge division) products, and external (competitive) products.
• Troubleshoot materials, products, and processes as necessary.
• Follows work standards and specifications
• Use equipment/technology as trained
• Maintain clean and organized work area
• Prioritizes and completes assignments in timely manner
• Perform general laboratory maintenance
• Demonstrate knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical hygiene practices

• This role may require occasional use of various equipment, including mixers, liquid and foam spraying equipment, pressurized canisters, spray guns and hoses, tensile and compression testing machines, IR machines, forklifts, and overhead cranes. This job may require occasional overnight travel for training.
• This job requires occasional heavy lifting and physical activity, including building of roof systems for testing purposes and spraying of foam insulation. This includes using power tools, lifting heavy materials and working solo when required.
• Must be able to pass respirator fit test and medical evaluation.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time.
• Ability to use hands and arms to lift and reach overhead, push, pull, grasp.
• Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend.
• Ability to hear at normal speaking levels, talking and ability to exchange ideas and communicate effectively.
• Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment and lab equipment, regularly utilizes depth perception, peripheral vision and close focus.
• Subject to environmental conditions, both hot and cold, inside and outside weather conditions.
• Subject to hazards, including a variety of physical conditions and proximity to moving mechanical parts and atmospheric conditions that may affect the respiratory
system.
• Regularly operates a computer, computer accessories and phone equipment

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

• Minimum: HS diploma or equivalent
• General computer skills with working knowledge of Email. MS Word and Excel is
preferred.

• No work experience is required, but a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and
Mathematics) aptitude is preferred.
• Reliable, and hard worker who is task oriented and motivated to fulfill their
responsibilities.
• Can work independently as well as part of a team and multitask effectively.
