ABOUT THE ROLE
Contributes to ensuring the high level of performance of the plant equipment by ensure application of maintenance procedures, methods and best practices, implementing action plans to improve both reliability and maintenance practices. Provide technical expertise for plant operations, as required. Ensure planning of maintenance operations, looking for the optimum use of resources, equipment availability and maintenance cost. Measures and monitors equipment conditions, analyzes trends, and identifies the needs for maintenance (mechanical, electrical, mobile equipment, and instrumentation), taking into account production constraints.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Follows and ensures full compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure the planned inspection of all plant equipment and initiate work orders based on inspection results, including safety checks.
- Monitor and co-ordinate condition predictors, for all critical equipment.
- Evaluate and improve the preventive maintenance job plans, create and update the corresponding inspection job plans, in coordination with the planner.
- Ensure that the maintenance practices, documented on Job Plans, comply with Quality Insurance Standards.
- Ensure systematic review, application and optimization of lubrication program.
- Optimize the maintenance operations according to the availability of equipment and workforce.
- Lead RCA initiatives for critical equipment failures to arrive at the root cause of the failure and develop associated action plan to prevent similar failures in the future.
- Identify, evaluate and proposes options to extend the life of plant equipment.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager with the preparation of maintenance budgets ensuring technical justification of maintenance operations, based on inspection and equipment history.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: Technical degree in mechanics or vocational training.
- Field of Study Preferred: Industrial mechanics.
- Required Work Experience: over 5 years experience in maintenance in an industrial environment.
- Required Technical Skills: Cement production process, Computer literacy, especially SAP.
- Travel Requirements: 10%.
Additional Requirements:
- Fluently bilingual
- Has a thorough understanding of Process Explorer (IP21) and is able to locate equipment problems by monitoring trends based on process flows
- Has a good understanding of maintenance costs and budget and base decisions taking into account equipment risks and budget constraints.
- Knowledge of non destructive testing devices (vibration, oil, infrared, ultrasonic, magnetic, radiographic, etc)
- Ability to collect and analyze vibration data, measurement of gauges, alignment control of equipment, establish a mechanical diagnosis.
- In-depth understanding of hot and cold kiln alignment procedures, ovality analysis and roller adjustments.
- Sound know-how of critical machine tolerances and clearances for better monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of electricity principles.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
