ABOUT THE ROLE

The Site Manager (Quarry and Paving) is responsible for the safety and supervision of the operations, manufacturing, and maintenance teams at their site, as well as their performance and development. They are also responsible for sustaining available reserves and optimizing equipment efficiency. Furthermore, the Site Manager ensures the link with functional teams (Environment, Land, Industrial Performance, Human Resources, and Safety) and operational excellence in order to achieve the highest performance at the lowest production cost in a unionized environment, while maintaining Amrize's reputation as a pillar of the industry and the communities where the Company operates.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Health & Safety: Administer and enforce health and safety program policies and procedures, ensuring employee safety and that all site contracts and projects comply with safety requirements.
  • Production Management: Ensure aggregate production meets sales demand, and develop, implement, and monitor production, maintenance, storage, and distribution strategies to meet KPI targets.
  • Contract & Capital Project Management: Supervise and manage local and national contracts, and collaborate with local and East Canada industrial performance and project teams to analyze capital investment project needs.
  • Financial Performance: Plan and monitor financial performance using local or regional tools, contribute to the site’s annual budget, and promote financial analyses to identify cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Inventory & Distribution Control: Forecast profitability and production to optimize performance, align inventory with sales to manage working capital, and support monthly inventory reconciliations.
  • Sustainable Mining: Ensure the site complies with Certificate of Authorization terms, help develop and execute the multi-year mine plan (from drilling-blasting subcontracting to reclamation phases), and optimize reserves while managing community impact.
  • Customer & Logistics Orientation: Partner with Sales, Distribution, and Supply Chain to maintain adequate inventory, optimize shipping schedules and truck turnaround times, and coordinate scale house and dispatch teams.
  • Environmental & Sustainability Stewardship: Ensure the site meets or exceeds regulatory and Amrize guidelines regarding environmental standards, snow dumps, and recycled products (concrete and asphalt reclamation).
  • Community & Labor Relations: Represent the site and foster positive relations with local stakeholders, neighbors, and provincial authorities, and coordinate with HR to effectively manage site employee relations and CBA application.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • At least seven (7) years of relevant experience (experience in aggregates or construction is an asset but not mandatory).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization, and planning skill
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proven people management skills with the ability to build effective relationships internally and externally.
  • Strong discipline, process-oriented mindset, and a proven track record of developing talent (supervisors, etc.).
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Understanding of general accounting methods and proficiency in various computer applications are definite assets.
  • Knowledge of the aggregate industry is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written language skills; bilingualism is an asset.
  • Good time management, autonomy, and the ability to handle a wide range of activities.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
