ABOUT THE ROLE

Support and improve the Amrize ECAN driver training program by ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and Amrize standards. Provide theoretical and practical training, evaluate and ensure the application of operational skills, and promote an exemplary safety culture. Act as a field reference and model for safe driving of ready-mix concrete (RMX) trucks.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Train and develop commercial drivers to ensure safe driving in compliance with Amrize policies and provincial laws.
  • Evaluate driver skills.
  • Act as an expert for: health and safety, policies, truck maintenance, and operations.
  • Conduct field observations, provide written evaluations, feedback, and follow up on necessary adjustments.
  • Support operations management in the planning, tracking, documentation, and compliance of the training program.
  • Produce reports on evaluations, performance, and re-certifications to ensure quality.
  • Post new positions, filter applications, conduct interviews, and manage the hiring and training process.
  • Ensure the application of minimum safety rules and Amrize standards on the job site.
  • Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by workers and provide corrections when required.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: Class 1 or 3 driver's license.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience driving heavy commercial vehicles (trucks and concrete mixers).
  • Languages: Fluency in French (mandatory) and English (an asset).
  • Technical Skills: Good proficiency with digital tools (Google Workspace, email, spreadsheets, and tablets).
  • Travel Requirements: 10%.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience in personnel management and training (an asset).
  • Knowledge of the construction and concreting field.
  • Knowledge of current driving laws and standards in Quebec.
  • Tact, diplomacy, autonomy, and decision-making ability.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
