ABOUT THE ROLE
The Plant Manager has direct responsibility for the plant sites including safety, environment, operations, sales, maintenance, inventory management, performance, quality, financial performance, employee relations, plant’s image and community relations. The Plant Manager is a professional who understands the value of planning and processes and takes a disciplined approach to execution, while working closely and effectively with safety, environment, sales, credit, and customer service, performance, finance and Human Resources.
Regular travel is required for this role to support on-site operations.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Safety & Environmental Stewardship: Establish and uphold environmental policies and safety cultures as a site priority, ensuring all Amrize best practices and regulatory requirements are met or exceeded.
- Operational Excellence: Provide direct oversight of plant activities—including processing, storage, and shipping— to ensure optimized workflows and best-in-class cost management.
- Asset Management: Maximize plant up-time and equipment longevity through the effective utilization of Amrize maintenance programs for both fixed and mobile assets.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all products remain within specifications and exceed customer expectations by implementing robust quality control processes and production best practices.
- Financial Performance: Achieve annual revenue targets and manage site budgets/forecasts, balancing raw material costs with market demand.
- Performance Tracking: Utilize KPIs, financial statements, and Performance Efficiency Reviews to identify variances, establish action plans, and drive continuous operational improvement.
- Strategic Planning: Develop operational and capital plans (CERs) to improve productivity and maintain a competitive cost advantage.
- Team Leadership: Manage the full employee lifecycle for direct reports—including recruitment, development, and performance management—while fostering a safe, productive, and proud work environment.
- Inventory & Supply Chain: Manage site inventory requirements through tight coordination with suppliers, accounting, and performance teams.
- Corporate Representation: Serve as an official Amrize representative within industry associations and community events, upholding the company’s reputation as a good corporate citizen.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
Responsibilities & Commercial Tasks:
- Market Analysis: Collect local market intelligence to track market share and competitor activity; provide accurate sales forecasts and backlog reports.
- Customer Engagement: Conduct frequent site visits to assess future demand and strengthen relations through value-added marketing and branded products.
- Sales Execution: Quote tenders for all customers, collaborating with the Area Manager on large-scale projects and key accounts.
- Negotiation & Closing: Lead negotiations on pricing, volume, and service terms; resolve "tough" situations such as claims or delivery delays.
- Commercial Administration: Coordinate with the credit department to establish new accounts, manage collections, and ensure accurate, timely pricing for billing.
- Sales Optimization: Self-analyze sales performance, optimize daily agendas for maximum face-to-face customer time, and attend all scheduled sales meetings.
- Order Integrity: Review orders prior to invoicing for accuracy and strictly comply with order cancellation procedures.
- Field Coaching: Deliver on-site coaching and guidance to superintendents, batchers, and drivers as needed.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: Post-secondary education, undergraduate degree in a related field (Business or Engineering).
- Required Work Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in a supervisor role and 3 to 5 years in sales roles.

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
