Concrete Construction Superintendent

ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Concrete Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk operations. The Superintendent will coordinate with owners and general contractors and organize crews and sub-contractors. As well, the Superintendent is responsible for ensuring contracts are completed safely, on time, on budget and in compliance with specifications and customer expectations.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Ensures safe and healthy working conditions with strict compliance to all health and safety rules in sites under his/her responsibility.
- Takes the time to be present in all locations of the concrete construction operation, and to be open to communication and concerns from all levels of the organization.
- Provides consistent coaching and mentoring to concrete employees and supervisors.
- Ensures the right people are in the right position. Hires and dismisses staff in co-ordination with HR, as required.
- Responsible for following processes and monitoring results in order to meet all financial targets, including budgets, forecasts and profitability levels.
- Responsible for accurate and timely entry and maintenance of data, including payroll, in order to support job cost accountants.
- Review project contract documents, organize crews, materials; plan, and schedule work and determine cost effectiveness; lay out traffic control plans with vendors and contractors.
- Work with customers to resolve problems either internal or external.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma.
Additional Education Preferred: N/A.
Field of Study Preferred: Engineering.
Required Work Experience: 5+ years of field experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Training/Certifications: N/A.
Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Suite and Google Suite.
Travel Requirements: 30-40%

- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

- Base Salary between $96,000 - $114,000.
