ABOUT THE ROLE
AMRIZE is a leading international manufacturer and supplier of a comprehensive product portfolio for commercial building performance solutions. This position will report to the Operational Excellence Manager and help to help ensure the facility and equipment are safe and efficient for all employees. Responsible for performing laboratory tests and writing test reports. This is an entry level position which requires no previous experience and typically requires close supervision. Physical lab testing to include destructive and non-destructive tests. This position will operate different types of equipment, including power tools to prepare the samples prior to testing. Annual Salary Range: 56K to 71K plus VIP annual bonus
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Follow safety rules and regulations (SOP, PPE, etc.)
- Follows work standards
- Revises work standards as needed
- Use equipment/technology as trained
- Maintain clean and organized work area
- Prioritizes and completes assignments in timely manner
- Follow work orders and batching instructions to make experimental adhesive formulations.
- Communicate with internal customers
- Notifies supervisor of issues with work standards
- Reports results to the lab supervisor
- Identify operation, quality, and technology issues and report them to their supervisor
- High level of supervision required initially
- Perform general laboratory maintenance and follow Global Harmonized System (GHS) practices.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical hygiene practices

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
- Minimum: HS diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of MS word and Excel is required.
- No work experience is required, but an aptitude for math and science is required.
- Self-Starter with ability to work independently and multitask effectively.
- Technical aptitude with strong documentation skills
- Knowledge of ASTM and other test standards is preferred.
- Experience in Lean Culture is preferred.
- Six Sigma certification (yellow, green, or black belt) is a plus
