ABOUT THE ROLE
The Electrical Systems Engineer primary responsibility is to ensure 24-hour reliability of all process control and environmental systems. The qualified candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of duties including
but not limited to system administration, system design, risk assessment, budget development and management, hardware and software implementation and integration, network analysis and troubleshooting, and creating and maintaining documentation at a professional level.
The Electrical Engineer, New Graduate will also be a part of the Amrize Build4Growth Program. This is an extensive, 14-month cement manufacturing learning and development program designed to provide new graduate engineers with foundational knowledge and experience on the main operational areas of our cement plants. This program is built on a blended learning approach including online learning, face-to-face sessions, on-the-job assignments, and projects.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Maintain and create up to date system functionality documentation providing commissioning support for all new or modified programming. This includes follow up training and coaching for clear understanding (example: Kiln Inlet Analyzer operation)
- Electrical preventive and predictive maintenance programs. This includes conducting systematic inspections on all plant electrical equipment, collection of quantitative data, its’ organization and analysis using a variety of traditional as well as technically advanced diagnostic tools. The electrical engineer shall assess the condition of the process and machinery accurately, assess risk and identify the appropriate corrective actions based on technical analysis and risk management.
- Provide plant specific IT support for all process systems and provide point of contact for corporate IT with business systems (PC upgrade plan, CAT 5, fiber, switches, etc.)
- Responsible for the accurate documentation of electrical schematics and stores spare parts inventory.
- Ensure all system-programming meets with proper environmental compliance.
- Maintain system documentation including but not limited to master equipment files, regulatory compliance files, equipment specifications, and repair history
- Evaluate computer control equipment and their components to assure they meet the plant requirements.
- Provide operational support by aiding in troubleshooting system including but not limited to optimizing control loops, validating alarms and verifying field signals providing expert advice on all environmental compliance systems.
- Define, write and implement changes to existing process control programs.
- Provide control system training and guidance for plant personnel.
- Troubleshoot control system hardware and software problems.
- Participates in defining, developing and executing equipment and process modifications to improve reliability, reduce costs and/or improve safety. Provide electrical knowledge and support for plant maintenance and PLC control projects.
- Provide emergency coverage on weekends and nights (on call).

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Computer Science, Electrical/Instrumentation, Process Control
Required Work Experience: 0-3 years
Required Computer and Software Skills: High level computer and software skills, knowledge of ControlLogix 5000 is a plus
Travel Requirements: 5 - 10%

- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
